Slideshow: Rodeos, cattle shows and concerts were just some of the events at North Dakota’s oldest ag show.

Established in 1937, the North Dakota Winter Show in Valley City is the oldest and longest-running agriculture show in the state, attracting exhibitors and visitors from around the country.

This year’s show in early March featured North Dakota Rodeo Association and Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association competitions, old-time tractor pulls, commercial exhibits, a cattle show, and draft horse events. The Battle of the Border had high school rodeo contestants from North and South Dakota compete for the title. And Singer Tim Montana headlined the concert this year, with the opening act being Trip Wire.

The show received a new manager in 2021, with Brandee Moore stepping into the role. Originally from Arkansas, Moore has been living in North Dakota for the last five years. She comes with experience in agriculture and business, with a background on a cattle ranch and as an accountant. Moore also has worked with Bailey Pro Rodeo.

The winter show features some of North Dakota agriculture’s best with the North Dakota Ag Hall of Fame. The most recent inductions have been Dr. Vern Anderson of Carrington and Jim and Jody Hauge of Mandan.
