The conference, held Sept. 18-19, presents the latest in nutrition research and best practices.

The University of Minnesota is hosting the 80th edition of Minnesota Nutrition Conference Sept. 18-19 at Mankato Civic Center.

A pre-conference symposium, sponsored by Origination O2D, Inc., kicks off the conference on the morning of Sept. 18, focusing on “Nutrition Solutions for Healthy and Productive Livestock.” This session will cover mineral nutrition of dairy cows, pigs and poultry, and new discoveries in managing the transition dairy cow.

The afternoon of Sept. 18 begins with a general session, “Impact of Current Technologies On Future Animal Production.”

Alfredo DiCostanzo, conference co-chairman and U-M professor of beef cattle nutrition and management, says industry-based and academic nutrition professionals consider the Minnesota Nutrition Conference as their premier source of information.

“The conference relies on participation by academic and practitioners who are leading experts in their fields to convey the latest research, information and best practices,” DiCostanzo says.

During the second day, experts in ruminant and monogastric nutrition will cover topics related to nutrition of dairy and beef cattle in transition; growth management; the role of micronutrients on health and productivity; traditional and alternative feed sources; risk assessment of the vitamin supply chain; and the latest information on African swine fever.

Pre-registration at $200 is open online until Sept. 12. After that date, the standard registration rate is $225.

The full conference agenda and the complete list of sponsors, among other conference details, is hosted at the Minnesota Nutrition Conference website.
